1st time holding MadysonOne year ago (two days ago) my beautiful Madyson McKenzie entered the world. It amazes me how much love my heart holds for my girls. I am such a proud mother!
Madyson is a spunky little girl who is quickly learning how to stand up to her big sister. She even wins some of the tug-of-wars over toys, and we all know what a tough little girl her big sister is! Madyson has had a pretty rough time since she had RSV in April and at times I feel like she doesn't know what if feels like to be healthy. Regardless of being ill, she has a smile on her face and she gives it her all!
Mady is walking and is getting into everything! She has finally discovered the Christmas tree, much to our dismay. She has already made the transition to whole milk, which is a relief since Caitlyn couldn't tolerate it until 14 months of age.
Here are some fun things about Madyson:
-she has learned how to climb on the couch by pushing Caitlyn's chair to the edge.
-she LOVES cheese and is not a picky eater
-she is already throwing tantrums...she jumps up and down, arches her back, and throws herself on the ground...nice.
-she knows how to push Caitlyn's buttons. A simple gesture toward Caitlyns bedroom or toys elicits a screech from Caitlyn and a laugh from Madyson.
-she adamantly shakes her head when she doesn't want what is offered
-she says "hi" and "hello" when we are on the phone
-she loves to open drawers, again eliciting a screech from Caitlyn when she decides to take a peek into Caitlyn's dresser drawers.
-she adores her sister
-she says "hi" to Daddy every morning
-she is a cuddler, which always warms a mommy's heart
-she has a spark in her eye and is always thinking of what to do next
-she give big slobbery kisses
Today she went to hear 1 year appointment and we were relieved to hear that her ears look wonderful and there's no need to pursue ear tubes right now. Madyson is a more petite girl that her sister, as weights over 2 pounds less than Caitlyn did at 1 year. Madyson is in the 50th percentiles for height and weight; 21 lbs, 6.4 oz & 29.5".

Funny how time flies. I remember talking with you the weekend before she was born and you HAD been considering working Monday the 15th but had too many things to do...and then went into labor anyway :) I guess kids keep us a little bit flexible. Happy 1st Birthday, Madyson!
