We did have a great time though. Caitlyn got to enjoy some games and best of all she got prizes. She got a pumpkin cookie and then we all went on a hayride around the ranch, which was pretty great. Grandma Jan met us there, so it made it an even better afternoon! It was also FREE, which seems to rarely be the case anymore with any family event.
Speaking of...Saturday Caitlyn and I stopped at the mall to pick up some art supplies and low and behold, it was Kid Fest at the mall. I was completely caught off guard. Of course, you have to buy tickets to enjoy the activities and this Mommy had NO cash on hand! Talk about feeling guilty! It feels terrible for your own child to go without when other kids are having fun! Caitlyn had a fit when we had to actually leave the mall to drive across the street to get some cash, as she thought we were leaving for good and that her Mommy wasn't going to allow her to go in the HUGE castle jumping gym, complete with slide. It took some coaxing, but we got to the bank and back and had the privilege of standing in line for 20 minutes so that she could enjoy her 5 minutes of jumping in the "castle." We arrived at the "princess table" too late, as they were all out of foam princess crowns, which Caitlyn had her eyes on; better luck next time I guess. All in all, it was a fun impromptu afternoon at the mall. I guess I'll have to carry at least some cash at all times from now on!
Racing for the only pumpkin left in the pumpkin patch.
Got it!
Doing the hay maze with Grammy...we're still not sure who was more lost and who actually found the way out!
Taking a cookie break with Daddy.
Playing "toss the ring on th steer." Caitlyn didn't mess around...she just walked up and put the ring on the horns.
