On Our 3 Year Old and The Holidays

Caitlyn had her 3 year doctor visit today. Dr. Graham's prediction is that Caitlyn will be AT LEAST as tall as her Mommy! She is 39" and 39 lbs and doctor says she is perfectly proportionate and very healthy. She is in the 97th percentile for heigth and the 95th percentile for weight. He finds it hard to believe that she was a preemie, which I completely agree with! Taking Caitlyn to the doctor was actually pretty fun, as she was excited about it. She kept asking the doctor to "listen to my heart beep." She listened to the nurse and doctor better than she ever listens to her parents, but I guess that makes for a proud Mommy moment when others comment about how great she listens and how good her manners are.
No crying and not even a flinch for her flu shot either; she just wanted to make sure that she got a pretty band-aid and a Dora sticker!

Dr. Graham made a deal with Caitlyn that when she comes back in for her baby sister's appointments if Mommy tells him that she has been pooping in the potty then he will let her pick out 2 prizes from his "big toy" prize box. She was pretty excited about that, so we'll see how it turns out.

In other news, on Saturday we took Caitlyn to the Teddy Bear Tea Party at the mall. $5 got her a snack, a toy, some art projects, games, plus a free visit with Santa. Caitlyn was terrified of Santa the week prior and refused to have anything to do with him. However, once it was explained that in order to get the pink mermaid bath toy she wants she has to ask Santa....off she went. She stood in line and when it was her turn she marched right up to Santa and before even sitting on his lap said "I want a pink mermaid." She gave him a hug and thanked him for the candy cane and we even got a photo. The next day at Wal-Mart she saw Santa again and INSISTED on telling him that she wants a pink mermaid again. All went well, although she expects that once she tells Santa what she wants then he should deliver RIGHT NOW!

The holiday season is so exciting this year due to Caitlyn really getting into the traditions and understanding things.

With her birthday, Thanksgiving, Madyson's upcoming arrival, and all of the Christmas events she is pretty confused about what's what and what is when. Now instead of saying goodnight...she says....MERRY CHRISTMAS! Guess we have her a bit confused!
